About Art Glass Tags

Art Glass Tags combines our passion for
glass artistry and for our four-legged friends.

The concept began several years ago when we created art glass ID jewelry for our Westie, Oban, as well as for pets of family and friends. We were thrilled with their enthusiastic response and their requests for additional tags for other pets they knew.

From that point, we began experimenting with glass designs and firing schedules to achieve the exact look we wanted. The next step was to bond the glass to the metal tags, and then to test them for durability. We started out with a hammer and chisel. But the true test was the ever-active Oban -- an avid rock climber who also loves to play in our rock waterfall. Oban has had his first tag for three years now. It has successfully withstood the “Westie test” – banging against the rock waterfall thousands of times. It has sustained a little scratch here and there, which is to be expected, but is still a beautiful piece of art.

After test marketing, we created our company. We continue to hand-craft each unique piece of art in our studios, with the same loving attention to detail given to those first tags made for family and friends. On behalf of Oban, we extend our most sincere wishes for each pet to wear the tag in good health!
